area. Cleddon Falls can be seen, and heard, to the left. Take great care if you chose to take a closer look at the waterfall. โ€ข From the Falls [4] turn around and follow the road opposite. In a couple of hundred yards a large house can be seen over the wall to the right. This is Cleddon Hall, the birthplace of Bertrand Russell.

Description A lovely walk through beautiful woodlands that is not too strenuous and great to do with the whole family. There are some fantastic viewpoints along the way, some with a bench to relax as you take in the views.

The Cleddon Falls cascades towards the Wye via Llandogo, and are best enjoyed with a relatively gentle four mile walk. Begin at Whitestones car park and set off into the rich pine forest, passing three viewpoints before emerging out at farmland and reaching the falls.

Ninewells - Woodside - Catbrook - Cleddon Falls - Ninewells Cleddon Bog Nature Reserve is well worth a visit, as it is home to many bog plants as well as birds. The walk passes the edge of the bog before entering Ninewell Woods and following across to Catbrook. There are good views across to the Welsh mountains on this stretch.

Step 1: This walk starts at the far end of Whitestone car park in the Wye Valley Woodlands. Please note it's very muddy in wet or wintry weather. Step 2: This car park has picnic benches, barbecue facilities and a playground although as of January '22 the playground was closed for refurbishments.

Exit at junction 2, and follow the A466 through Chepstow and into the Wye Valley. The route starts in Llandogo. There are a few places to park in the village, such as by the post boxes.

Passing Cleddon Falls the route later descends gently to Whitestone (views and picnic site), continues through woodland and then steeply down to the river at Brockweir. The old railway line leads to Old Station Tintern and a riverside path to St. Michael's Church with pavements through the village to Tintern Abbey.
